About Us

Mom's Red Kitchen is a place to learn more about small kitchen appliances, read reviews of cookbooks and appliances, and share family recipes. Linda Pogue, Webmaster and Designer, has developed this site as a result of her desire to learn more about her small kitchen appliances, share her reviews of those appliances, as well as reviews of cookbooks she has tried out. She also would like to share some homestyle family recipes.

About Linda

For the past ten years, Linda (Mom) has been a full-time student and employed full-time. This left little time to explore and enjoy her kitchen. As she nears the end of her education, this site will chronicle her exploration and reviews of assorted appliances, as well as her attempts to create recipes enjoyed by her family since her childhood. Some of these recipes have a list of ingredients, but lack measurements and instructions. As she creates meals for her family using these recipes, she will be writing down instructions, including methods that worked in preparation.

Linda Pogue started her first college class in January 1998, after her two children were grown. After completing a BS in Computer Information Systems, she decided she wanted to continue learning more in her field, earning a MS in Computer Information Systems in 2003. Currently, she is working on her PhD in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Design for Online Learning. Her course work is finished, and she is in the dissertation phase of her degree program.

Mom's Red Kitchen provides Linda with the opportunity to utilize what she has learned over the past 10 years, while enjoying her kitchen and re-acquainting herself with cooking.
